Final critiques begin

See you tomorrow at 11am sharp for Advanced Critiques and Beginning/Intermediate Critique of Two or More Heads.

Be ready to answer:

1. Looking back on the semester what do you think you learned in terms of your work (technique, content, skills) that was a success and what can you still push yourself to do better? Be thoughtful and self critical.

2. Please think of an example of at least 2 people in the class that grew in their work/skills or did something differently than you might have in relation to a project this semester. Think of clear examples that help that person to realize what they did and why it was interesting and well done.

FINAL CALENDAR. PLEASE READ!

Thursday the 4th: Advanced final critiques and Research Projects due.
Beginning Sketchbooks collected. Start 2 or more heads critique.

Tuesday the 9th: Final Critique/Potluck Beginning/intermediate 2 or more heads and Final Project. Sketchbooks returned. Pick up work from Student show. (Can also pick up Monday the 8th)

I'll update this over the weekend and your research and ideas will be due Thursday Nov 6th at which time I'll give a power point to inspire and we'll do a small in class project. Remember your busts are due Tuesday at the start of class and since we'll have a visiting artist that day your work should be placed uncovered in the back room on the counter (I'll show you) Focus and work hard and check back before class on Tuesday for the final project to be announced!

Project 1 and Slip UPDATE- IMPORTANT!

So Nathan mixed all the slips and they are the correct consistency. Do not add water at any time. If you think the slips or glazes are the wrong consistency tell myself or Nathan.

Also Longhorn red is terracotta. If you have longhorn red then you have the clay you need.

The slips are there and ready to be used. Your shoes should be slipped and dry by Thursday. I'll give you an extension but there will be no more class time to work and they will be put in the kiln room finished or not next Thursday at the start of class.

Remember your ideas, sketches, and research are also due Thursday at the start of class. We will discuss as a class.
